The Cricut machine uses small, lightweight cartridges to cut complete font or shape sets. The machine is easy to use. Simply place your paper on the cutting mat, load it into the machine, insert your cartridge, make your cutting selection, and press cut. Users can even control the size and the style of the cut with the machine's simple controls. This portable cutter weighs only 9 pounds and has a handle for convenient transportation. The Cricut cutter is awesome! At WiNKDOMLashes.com we use it to create the best marketing materials. Easy to use. Convenient. A great investment

"USB Issues" 2010-10-25
By Camera addict (Fayettleville, NC USA)
Save your money and buy something else. USB port was inoperable and the unit would not connect with a computer to use the design studio software. Could not install drivers either with Windows 7. Cricut has done nothing to make driver and software installation easier with Windows above XP service pack 2. It goes to show how much they put back into upgrades.

Cartridges are expensive and have limited patterns and designs.
No way to adjust size of objects or symbols past the 1" FONT SIZE.
Limited capabilities for figuring out how many objects to put on the given paper size. No way to tell if the lettering will start on another line.

Returned unit and software for a full refund. Cricut customer service is none existent and unable to lend assistance

"I like my Cricut." 2010-09-30
By T. Chen
I got this machine yesterday and I think it's very cool. I have never seen a cutting machine before, and it took me about 10 minutes to follow the manual and set it up. After a couple tries, I realized I could adjust the blade depth and cutting pressure to make proper cuts. It does take a few tries to get things working correctly, but I think I am going to like it a lot.

This a great invention. I actually bought the Expression. It has better sizing for what I do using the Cricut.
